Exploring and Encouraging a Healthy Life Marked with Joy

“Spring is nature’s way of saying, ‘Let’s party!'”

— Robin Williams

“The year’s at the spring
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven;
The hillside’s dew-pearled;
The lark’s on the wing;
The snail’s on the thorn;
God’s in His heaven –
All’s right with the world!”

— Robert Browning

    Dr. Saye, My name is Barry Kirkland. I was an older student in one of your English classes in the fall of 2011. I was the one who had the crazy ex-wife. Anyway your help and encouragement really meant a great deal to me. With your class being one of the first I took after a 20 years break from school I was unsure if I could pass. I am sending you because I graduated Saturday and wanted to let you know. Again thank you so much for the short time I had with you. I agree your idea of happiness in your courses really work. Thank you. Barry Kirkland

    • Barry! Hello, and yes, of course I remember you. Congratulations on your graduation. Wow! But wasn’t it just YESTERDAY that I had you in class? I’m so glad you let me know that my class impacted you in a positive way. Did you know that I retired from full-time college teaching in the summer of 2012? I now live in the historic district of Savannah (two blocks for the river) and teach part time at SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design), mainly to keep me off the streets. What’s next for you? If you’ve ever down here in Savannah, let me know–I would love to say hello.
