A Savannah Pre-Christmas-ing
If you’ve been checking out my blog at all lately (and I know at least four of you have–admit it), you may have seen that I have really–I mean REALLY–been enjoying the Christmas season 2013 in my gorgeous hometown of Savannah, GA.
A few more joyful Yule Happenings:
1. Christmas Cabaret
Last Saturday evening about six pm found me at the backstage door of the beautiful Lucas Theatre …
… here in Savannah. I had tickets for On Stage at the Lucas’ presentation of Christmas Cabaret: A Roger Moss Christmas. Well, Roger is a buddy of mine who used to live in the apartment above me on Abercorn. (I’ve overheard him practice his scales many a Sunday afternoon. Actually he has lulled me to sleep with scales practice.) But he didn’t lull me to sleep this night! What a delightful evening of music and fun. Featured singers Cat Yates (another buddy), Trae Gurley and Natasha Drena regaled the 100 member sold-out audience with Christmas favorites and joyful bantering. (Am I sounding a little 1900’s-ish?)
But I’m getting ahead of myself. Upon arriving and venturing inside, I saw Kevin Pittman and Savannah (the fox). How cool are they?
How cool are WE?
And, look! Snow!
Roger and Cat:
After the show, me rushing up to the stage area and shamelessly simply OWNING the space and harassing the stars, all in the name of a blog:
(WHY do I do things like this?!)
Belting out a Broadway tune with Cat.
I have decided that I really must become a Broadway star. I owe it to all of you. That’s just all there is to it.
I can see it now. Next year: Christmas Cabaret: A Neal Saye Christmas. Do you think I could learn to sing or dance or tell jokes or look cool (or get rid of my HORRIBLE FEAR of falling off the stage) by next Christmas?
2. Gingerbread Village at the Westin
I LOVE this annual Christmas display at the Westin across the Savannah River. So, umbrella-ed, Robert, Pang and I went last rainy night. Here’s a bit of what we saw:
Such fun!
3. Christmas Puppy
Grandsons Daniel (6) and Gabriel (3) received an early Christmas present last night .. a new puppy! His name is Spyro (after the Skylanders game).
Daniel with Spyro.
Mom Amy.
Next door neighbor come to meet the pup (with other grandson Gabriel).
And Yours Truly. (I’m seriously considering stealing the puppy. But am having difficulty working that out morally. Should I simply forget morals this time? My grandsons are young–they’ll forget soon.)
4. Yet one more post about my Wreathing in Joy
Christmas wreaths make me So Happy. I’m not sure why. But here are a few more I’ve seen in the last few days.
A shell wreath across the street.
(PLEASE ignore my huge legs.)

Wreathing in Joy Two
Happy, Happy Christmas Eve! Much Holiday Love to You All.
