Marveling at the beauty of Longleaf Pine bark after a spring rain.

So last night, I looked in the pantry and saw one lonely sweet potato.

A bit of butter and a sprinkling of dark brown sugar—then five minutes later our humble abode sprang to joyful and deliciously aromatic life.

I can still smell the sweet potato life this morn.
Simple marvels.
Marveling at the beauty, often hidden, to be found when we cast our gaze from the sidewalk.

What marvels are in your line of sight this day?
Marveling … at the quiet beauty of Wormsloe Historic Site near us here in Savannah.

Marveling! Over our quiet and simple, but delicious Christmas evening meal that Robert and I savored last night.

Definitely marveling this Monday morning.
Last night I made my rosemary spiced nuts for the holidays, and our apartment still smells incredible this morn.

15 minutes later …

Deliciously marvelous holiday joy.
Marveling this morn!
A sampling of YELLOW photographed near HR and me here in Historic District Savannah.

Marveling as about 100,000 of our friends joined HR and me at the 2022 Atlanta Pride Parade yesterday.

Sen. Raphael Warnock showed up, accompanied by his fellow Georgia senator and friend Jon Ossoff …

As did gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams …

Side-note: There were about a dozen other candidates present, all Democrats, for various state and local offices. But there wasn’t a Republican candidate to be found. Not one. No Gov. Brian Kemp. No Herschel Walker. I wonder why.

May we all drive on toward full equality.

Sitting in my faithful study chair with my “it’s-a-brand-new-day!” coffee precariously perched upon my knee (what? you don’t do that?), I suddenly noticed/was mindful of the Glorious Morning Sun streaking in through the blinds.

A shiver of joy awakened me once again to the Consistencies of Life: new morns following each night, breathing out following each breathing in, beauty all around just for the price of looking and seeing.
Here’s another day, dear,
Here’s the sun again
Peeping in his pleasant way
Through the window pane.
Rise and let him in, dear,
Hail him “hip hurray!”
Now the fun will all begin.
Here’s another day!
