Moaning.

Moaning.

Marveling at the beauty of the glorious gladiolus here in Savannah. One of my favorite flowers on the planet.

Simple Glad Summer Beauty
This morning I’m marveling at how the “little things” we encounter in daily life can sometimes bring sudden bursts of joy to us.
“Close Encounters of the Little Kind”

A couple of weeks ago Robert and I were up near Monticello, NY and took a little walk. “Look, Neal!” he excitedly pointed, with a little too much morning verve for me. At first all I saw was a tree with splotchy marks on it, but getting closer I saw it … him … Mr. Tree!

And somehow Mr. Tree brought unexpected but welcome joy to our morning walk.

What little thing have you noticed lately that brought a smile or an “aww/awe” to your life?
Marveling at—and being grateful for—life’s many and mini simple luxuries. Such as tuna salad and tomato on romaine.

When I really look at, attend to, the everyday simple joys in my life, they seem to grow larger in perspective.

What do you find marvelous today?
Marveling at our little potted sunflower that HR found …

It’s afternoon now, not morn. But I’m moaning a bit at the real feel of the temperature here in Savannah …

111?! Seriously?
Marveling this morning at the joy and many moods of PURPLE.

Definitely marveling. This past Friday, Grandson Daniel opened for a three-weekend run as Joseph in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” production at the Savannah Children’s Theater.

This is a great experience for Daniel. The play is the theatre’s 2022 MainStage production, meaning there are adult, teen and child actors involved. Daniel just turned 15, and some of his adult costars in “Joseph” are professionals, brought in for the show, so he has really been learning from their expertise.

“Close every door to me,
Hide all the world from me
Bar all the windows
And shut out the light…”

Joseph:
I look handsome, I look smart
I am a walking work of art
Such a dazzling coat of many colors
How I love my coat of many colors
Narrator and All:
It was red and yellow and green and brown
And scarlet and black and ochre and peach
And ruby and olive and violet and fawn
And lilac and gold and chocolate and mauve
And cream and crimson and silver and rose
And azure and lemon and russet and grey
And purple and white and pink and orange
And red and yellow and green and brown and blue!

Great colorful and MARVELous fun!
