Robert and I enjoyed a quiet and peaceful Day of the Dead celebration last evening.
Our ofrenda (altar honoring loved ones who have passed on before us) was a bit simpler this year, but its welcoming and vibrant colors invited back and honored the memories of both my and Robert’s parents, our beloved cats Boopers and Benny, and Robert’s Uncle Clenso, who passed away on November 2.
Our meal was simple: my parents’ favorite homemade chili. Each year we savor dishes that our parents enjoyed.
