Colorfully marveling today.

Colorfully marveling today.

Marveling this morn …
My first Thanksgiving/Christmas Holiday Sweet for 2024 …

Sweet Potato Pie
Robert made a Brown Sugar Nutty Topping, but I would only let him put it on half the pie.
Why?
I’m glad you asked.
My mother‘s favorite holiday pie was sweet potato. And she liked it plain without any fancy-smancy.
So that’s why 1/2 of the pie is PRETTY Plain.

I’m MARVELING this morning. Let me explain.
So HR has NEVER had a WARM (important adjective) HOMEMADE (second important adjective) BANANA PUDDING!
I felt so sorry for Robert’s culinarily sad deprivation that I got straight to work.

Of course he had to put his two cents in, asking for (demanding) Chessmen Butter cookies in addition to classic vanilla wafers …

… which made me a little mad, but good husband that I am, I plowed ahead.

Before the oven …

And now for the meringue …

For some inexplicable reason, HR decided to video me spreading the meringue …
Wasn’t that riveting?

Now wait with me for 15 minutes till the peaks brown.
Ta Da!

MARVELous!

Marveling at the JOY of having our first local, vine-ripe tomato sandwich for 2024.

Robert got fancy, and in my opinion, “purist tomato sandwich blasphemous,” with flavored vinegars and gobs of cucumbers, instead of simple salt, pepper and Duke’s mayonnaise.

May you experience something MARVELous this Monday!

MARVELING!
The incredibly aromatic blossoms of Jasmine are beginning to say their goodbyes here in historic district Savannah.

I will miss them sorely, although their stalwart greenery will stay to keep guard.
Awakening me from my sadness and reminding me that all is not forlorn, along comes Hydrangea, seemingly popping up everywhere I walk, especially this cool Monday morning.

Marveling!
One of the joys of warmer weather here in Savannah is the advent of the Spring Onion.

I love them!

Marveling at the intricate beauty of … Clouds.

Marveling this Monday morning, as I scroll through a hodgepodge of photos from our Baltimore trip last week.
NATURE

ART

Even our cutlery at lunch in the Mount Vernon section of Baltimore was sort of artsy.

I believe that if we attend to our lives carefully, we will see much to cause us to pause and MARVEL.

Marveling this morn, thinking back on the church Robert and I walked past on a walk near our Airbnb in the Riverside neighborhood of Jacksonville over the weekend.

It’s Romanesque and Byzantine architecture first caught our eyes. But then the large sign out front sparkled in joyfully inclusive welcome.

Look closer …

Thank you, Riverside. You are a Marvel.
