This morning Robert and I had to “put down” our beloved Benny. He has been “going downhill“ (how did we come up with all these euphemisms relating to death?) for quite a while now. This last week Benny, quite the senior citizen at 17 1/2, became noticeably lethargic, sleeping basically all the time, having difficulty breathing, and showing no interest in his food or his water, alerting us, per our vet’s advice, that the time had come. (Benny had progressive throat cancer.)
Robert and I will celebrate 10 years of marriage in December, but Benny has been with R much longer and is his True First.

So this morning HR loaded Benny in his carrier for one last ride.

How difficult it is to say Goodbye.

Goodbye …

So sorry to hear of your loss. Out pets are important. Lived to a good age.

I can’t add a like. We had a Benny the cat as well. The kitten photo is so cute
