Five Friday Happy Bringers 2/24/23

My weekly gratitude journal, of sorts.

1. White roses.

Is anything more beautiful?

2. The excitement when grandson Gabriel’s junior high basketball team wins their region championship this week.

The one longsleeve is supposedly cool now.

3. The incredible beauty of very late winter in Savannah. (It’s still about a month until the official beginning of spring.)

4. The sensation of Touch. What a joy. I thought of this today when I pulled out a thick beach towel from our dryer. Oh my goodness.

5. This incredibly delicious chocolate croissant from a brand new and very cool bakery near us, Sweet Patricia’s. http://www.sweetpatricias.com

May your weekend ahead be delicious.

Resurrection!

HR and I drove to our favorite Savannah library this morn to return a book we had just finished. [Boys Come First, our 161st (!) book we have read together.]

Walking out of the Bull Street Library, I saw this incredible old Live Oak …

It rained yesterday, so the resurrection fern was in proud display.

Walk closer with me.

If it doesn’t rain anymore, in a couple of days, the resurrection fern will dry up, be dark brown, and look dead.

Until the next rain.

Monday Moaning or Monday Marveling? 12/19/22

Definitely marveling this Monday morning.

Last night I made my rosemary spiced nuts for the holidays, and our apartment still smells incredible this morn.

South Georgia pecans and walnuts; a mixture of brown sugar, cayenne pepper and Kosher salt; finely chopped rosemary from my window herbs, and melted butter.

15 minutes later …

Deliciously marvelous holiday joy.
