I had one like that in my old, big, Victorian house (down-sized when my husband died) and now I delight in a lovely marble floor, very modern but oh, no more drafty areas! I loved the old but a I grow older, the new suits me better!

Have you listened to the creakiness of the wood, what stories they divulge? Drafts as spirits pass floor to floor on their “once” daily routines?
