An early dogwood tree around the corner from us …

We snatched a small branch.

One of the great rewards about living where we do in Historic District Savannah is that I can walk two blocks over toward the Savannah River, find a bench, read, and experience the Joy of Nature.

That’s the Savannah River behind me. Looking so peaceful now. But don’t be fooled. It is one of the busiest ports in the nation. And all of the ships travel right behind me.
But not at this moment.

Peace.

So, as I have shown in several recent posts, Savannah’s azaleas have been gloriously beautiful this late winter. Blooming earlier than usual.

But, believe it or not, some of them are beginning to move past their prime.

Which saddens me.
But poet Robert Frost understood this issue. And helps us to understand it.

May we enjoy the gold while it’s here.
A blog category of pics I’ve taken of HR (Hubby Robert) and … well, just about anything.
Robert and … the world.

This huge globe, an old, iconic landmark in Savannah, is getting a redo as a part of a new Starbucks.

So today I reached this milestone in my meditation practice …

Shouldn’t I be a guru or something?

So why do I still feel like such a novice?
HR and I drove over to Tybee Island, aka Savannah Beach, (twenty minutes away) for a morning beach walk, actually our first one in 2023.
Robert parked the car near the pier, while looking all cool and beach hip.

(I stood in the shade and daydreamed while he did that parking app thingy, which I don’t quite understand.)

After parking my sandals in the sand, we walked toward the Atlantic.
(FYI: HR does not like to go barefoot on the beach. He doesn’t like to feel those bad little tiny broken shells on his feet.)
(FYI 2: Sometimes you just have to put up with all the quirks in a relationship.)

Here’s Robert and a bird.

And here’s a short documentary titled Cold Feet, produced and directed by HR, starring me.

Terrific morning!

Walking along Bay Street near our place here in downtown Savannah, HR and I caught sight of a little green oval tucked into a planter

We walked closer.

And the universe spoke to us.

YOU ARE ENOUGH.
A beautifully encouraging message arriving at the perfect time.
I received its truth.
I hope you do too.
So I was minding my own business this morning, waiting “patiently” in the car, while Robert did who knows what at a UPS store.
I looked out my passenger side window and saw this …

“Weeds,” I dismissively thought.
Then the sort of chubby one in the middle said to me, “Why are you judging us?”
And then that smaller one to the left said, “What gives you the right?“
Embarrassed, I looked again.

And then I saw my very favorite color,GREEN, beautifully rejoicing in the morning sun.
And I had to agree with so many other folks smarter than me …

Ouch!

1. Understanding why someone might decide to become a thief …

2. HR and me — renewing our vows at our church’s annual ceremony.

3. Believing that most people are at their core, good.
4. Back to the first Happy Bringer, the ability to savor chocolate.

5. The expression on grandson Matthew’s face as he was given his certificate announcing that he is now a part of the gifted program at his school.

(And Robert congratulating him.)
May this weekend bring you gifts of peace, health and joy.
