“Illusion”

See me?

A blog category about finding “art” in unexpected places and situations.
So I was minding my own business, sitting in my study chair …

… meditating on why the Kardashians are still “a thing,” when Robert, who had been in the kitchen working on his ice cream sundae, barreled into the study and shoved this in my face …

“OoKaay,” I said, but really concentrating on Kim’s issue with her bangs.
“No, look, Neal!” (R only calls me by my name when he is animated). “LOOK.”

“Uh, that’s the top of the fudge jar,” I observed.
“No, no,” he squealed, “your Artful Dodger blog category. LOOK.”

Then I saw him! A cute little brown puppy!

Aww. Isn’t he adorable?!

If only I would more consistently heed that sensible advice!

Let’s all enjoy as best we can—or at least appreciate—this one day, this Tuesday.
Marveling at—and being grateful for—life’s many and mini simple luxuries. Such as tuna salad and tomato on romaine.

When I really look at, attend to, the everyday simple joys in my life, they seem to grow larger in perspective.

What do you find marvelous today?
A blog category of pics I’ve taken of HR (Hubby Robert) and … well, just about anything.
Robert and … two giant flamingos.

Going into a bathroom in New York recently, I saw these notices …

No? Don’t throw toilet paper into the toilet?

NO? DON’T FLUSH ANYTHING DOWN THE TOILET?!
To throw or to flush—that is the question!

There is just so much ugliness and negativity in our world today. Many of us are struggling with heightened anxiety because of the nearly constant bad news showing up on our devices and making its way into our minds and bodies.
So I am going to try (emphasis on “try”) to lean into the lovely when I see it.
The endangered Longleaf Pine is my favorite tree, so on our travels, I love looking for Longleaf’s relatives. Here are some cousins HR and I saw while up in the Catskills recently.

I’m leaning into the lovely, life-enhancing pines.

Can you smell them? Deliciously healthy fragrance.

1. Our joyful trip to New York (which I now promise I will stop posting about).

2. Bananas.

3. Crêpe myrtles in Savannah summer heat.

4. The blessing of having a bathroom. With running cold and hot (!) water, a toilet and a shower.
5. Seeing clover.

Hope you see a Wonderful Weekend ahead!
