“Strong”

Our hallway Christmas Cactus (Schlumbergera), all green just days ago, Suddenly Surprising us with springtime blooms.

So … Merry Christmas, I guess.

My weekly gratitude journal, of sorts.
1. My Hambone Soup last night, made from the leftover Easter ham.

And for some reason, out of the blue, when I was making the cornbread, I remembered that my mother used to put a heaping teaspoon of mayonnaise into the batter. Makes it creamier.

2. Grandson Daniel opening tonight in a three-week run of Les Mis here in Savannah. He plays the role of Marius.

3. The wonderful ability to Remember.
4. Incredibly aromatic jasmine blossoming all over Savannah.

5. Fun lunch today with Robert’s daughter Stennesha.

May you have a yummy weekend ahead.
Walking along the Savannah River near us, Robert and I came upon this stretch of “weeds” pushing, rising, bursting forth with colorful, flowering life through man’s concrete and bricks.

“Orange”

So today was/is HR’s (Husband Robert’s) dad’s birthday. He would have been 77 today. Here we all are down at Fernandina Beach, FL a few years ago.

And here’s Robert and his dad … more than a few years ago.

Rest in Peace, Robert John Smith, Sr.
I love to be happy. Don’t we all? And it doesn’t take much to make me so.

Over the weekend, HR and I traversed over to our favorite new Savannah bakery, Sweet Patricia’s. WE LOVE THIS PLACE!

Our breakfast was BEYOND delicious. But the piece de resistance was … the bathroom.

It exuded happiness.

On the way out, I told beautiful Morgan, the face of Sweet Patricia’s (at least on that day), that we claim the bathroom, and hope to move one of the tables into the bathroom next time we eat there.
Morgan responded: “We will reserve it for you!”

Like I said, it doesn’t take much.

And I hope you are having a Joyful Jumping Easter.
