HR (“Husband Robert” for the uninitiated) and I were meandering around the Baltimore Museum of Art and stumbled outside to find … her.

Fruit: Bronze Statue by Emile-Antoine Bourdelle
Robert is most often bolder than me. “Hello, ma’am. May I have some of your fruit?”

“ I guess so. Because of your red pants.”

“Many, many thanks, ma’am.”

“You’re a cutie. Look behind.”

Generosity.
Walking to beautiful Forsyth Park here in Savannah, HR and I came upon this old Spanish Moss-covered tree we had passed many a time before.

But this time, the tree beckoned us over.

“What,” I asked, still not sure what was going on.

“Why do you all walk past me, ignoring me, disrespecting me? I have been here long before any of you arrived.”
And for the first time in, well, forever, I saw the tree as a living being. A fellow creature on planet earth.

A tree who “sees and understands.”

If the shoe, crown, fits ….
It sorta fits. Don’t you think?

So, Robert and I were enjoying an evening walk here in historic district Savannah near where we live. Minding our own business. When we came upon this …

Wait. You need to look down.

See? Broken eggshells carefully placed at the base of the door to this business.
Robert frustratingly interrupted me by taking my pic as I was trying to start an important investigative report.

But. What? Huh? Eggshells at the bottom of a door?

I tried to research it a bit. But didn’t find too much except for vague references to Savannah voodoo and magic.
What do you think is going on here?
Should I go to the business Monday morning and ask?

1. Having lunch with our grandtwins at their new school for this year.

2. Slightly cooler mornings and evenings here in Savannah (in the 70’s), making our walks much more doable.
3. An alternative definition of “Pro-Life.”

On the bulletin board at our local health food store.
4. Reverent Dusk.

The spires of the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist near us on our evening walk last night.
5. Having Tybee Island (Savannah’s beach) just down the road from us.

I hope your weekend is filled with treasures.
