Come along, and see what I saw …

Historic District Savannah has 22 beautiful extant squares. Plus two more that were partially destroyed by “progress.“
On an evening walk near us today, I came across this kitty resting in Warren Square.

“Hello there,” I said, trying to project friendliness.

“Hmmm,” he sighed.
Stretchin’

The older I get, the more I like pictures like this that Robert took today at our hiking outing at beautiful Wormsloe Historic Site just outside Savannah.

See? The emphasis is on the early evening light falling on the old cast-iron fence. And NOT on my now-completely white hair or deepening wrinkles.

Beach Peace

One of the many great joys of living in Historic District Savannah is the easy fifteen-minute drive along the Savannah River and the marshes to Tybee Island (aka Savannah Beach) .

Cornbread

It may seem a little odd to feature cornbread as an Image of Peace, but not for me. I grew up in a little house in North Georgia where the aroma of my mama’s freshly baked cast iron skillet of corn bread smelled and felt like the comfort and safety of “home.”

1. Our interracial ornaments!

2. The beautiful little boutique coffee shop that just opened across the street from us in the old Trustees Garden area of Savannah.

3. The joy and privilege of breathing in and breathing out … all the time!
4. Cute-collared holiday doggie near us.

5. Democracy winning …

May you have a winning weekend ahead!
