Kitty in the Square

Historic District Savannah has 22 beautiful extant squares. Plus two more that were partially destroyed by “progress.“

On an evening walk near us today, I came across this kitty resting in Warren Square.

“Hello there,” I said, trying to project friendliness.

“Hmmm,” he sighed.

The Older I Get

The older I get, the more I like pictures like this that Robert took today at our hiking outing at beautiful Wormsloe Historic Site just outside Savannah.

See? The emphasis is on the early evening light falling on the old cast-iron fence. And NOT on my now-completely white hair or deepening wrinkles.

Countdown to Christmas: “Images of Peace” 12/20/22

For this blog category, “Countdown to Christmas: Images of Peace,” each day between December 1 and 25, I share some of our photography that invites rest, peace, tranquility and love.

Beach Peace

One of the many great joys of living in Historic District Savannah is the easy fifteen-minute drive along the Savannah River and the marshes to Tybee Island (aka Savannah Beach) .

Cornbread

It may seem a little odd to feature cornbread as an Image of Peace, but not for me. I grew up in a little house in North Georgia where the aroma of my mama’s freshly baked cast iron skillet of corn bread smelled and felt like the comfort and safety of “home.”
