My Saturday Evening Post: 11/5/22 “HR, Natalie and Stacey”

Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams was here in Savannah this morning for her “Let’s Get It Done Bus Tour.”

Robert excitedly attended without me (because I’m a bit under the weather this weekend).

Natalie Portman is in town this month filming her latest movie, so she introduced Stacey.

May Stacey Abrams be our next Georgia governor !

HR and Stacey. You can tell they are “very close.”

Jacked

So HR and I were on a morning walk today here in downtown Savannah near us and came across this cool holiday display …

“How cute,” I exclaimed. Until I realized that someone had actually CARVED THAT INCREDIBLE JACK-O’-LANTERN!

SERIOUSLY?

For the past 60 years, my jack-o’-lanterns have looked exactly the same.

Starting the process with grandsons Daniel and Gabriel … way back.
The end result with grandson Daniel … way back.
End result at grand twins Madison and Matthew’s school … way back.

On a pumpkin patch field trip with the grand twins.

Pumpkin Joy!

A Prolific Pumpkin Display

On a cool morning walk today, HR and I came upon this incredible fall pumpkin display outside a beautiful Savannah historic district townhome.

OK, maybe the shadows messed that photo up a bit.

Here’s more.

And more.

Seriously?

And look! Here’s HR claiming squatters rights.

October beauty and fun!

And here’s our sad, lone “punkin” …

But he’s a proud one.

Monday Moaning or Monday Marveling? 10/17/22 “Plant Life”

Each day, I continue to be amazed at the incredible, diverse joy of Plant Life.

Collards — my joy!
Carrots and onions.
Savannah corn!
Local tomatoes
The elephant ear, my favorite plant of all time.
Pumpkin glory.
Bananas!
Sunflower (inside our apartment!)

This post could go on and on, but I’ll end with perhaps The Joy of My Life, the southern Longleaf Pine …

Here’s to Plants!
